Procès

El 20 de novembre de 2013 es va iniciar un procés de participació ciutadana en Barcelona amb l’objectiu d’erigir un monument en homenatge a les dones -i als seu fills i filles- represaliades en aquest centre durant el franquisme.

Durant els dies 25 i 26 de novembre de 2014 es van celebrar al districte unes Jornades Internacionals amb exposició al voltant del futur monument Presó de Dones de Les Corts

A partir del llançament de la web, ACMe va organitzar diverses iniciatives culturals i de divulgació del coneixement històric de la presó al barri i a la ciutat, en col·laboració amb l’Associació de Veïnes i Veïns i altres entitats

On November 25 and 26, an international seminar was held in the district with an exhibition around the future monument of the Women's Prison of Les Corts.

On 20 November 2013 a process advocating the involvement of the community, was started to erect a monument to pay tribute to the women -and their sons and daughters- who suffered repression at the facility during Franco's Regime.

Once the website was up and running, ACMe went on to organise several cultural initiatives to make the history of the prison known to the residents of the district and the city, in cooperation with the Association of Local Residents and other entities.

In 2011 the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona promoted a series of initiatives towards the creation of a public space and the erection of a monument on the area that occupied the site of the former prison and encouraged an open debate, so that local organisations and social groups of the district could join in and provide their feedback.

A plaque unveiled in October 2010 by Les Corts district councillors turned out to be, in a funny way, a catalyst to kick-start a collective process.

In November 2006, the association ACMe (Associació per la Cultura i la Memòria de Catalunya / Associtation for the Culture and Memory of Catalonia) launched a multimedia portal about Les Corts prison for women, in the form of a virtual “site of memory”.

L'any 2011 la Facultat de Belles Arts de la Universitat de Barcelona va promoure un conjunt de propostes d’ espai públic i  monumentalització de l’antic solar de la presó a plantejar i discutir amb entitats veïnals i agents socials del districte.
