His paternal aunt, Clara Pueyo Jornet, was a communist militant who was forced to flee to France in 1939, only to return shortly thereafter to resume her political activities.

El testimonio de Enriqueta Borrás (Barcelona, 1934) es el de una hija de presa: la libertaria Rosita Mateu. Su mirada sobre Les Corts es la de una niña-adolescente que visitó regularmente a su madre durante los ocho años en que esta estuvo encarcelada.

En Les Corts, Rosita coincidió con numerosas compañeras libertarias: entre otras, con la maestra Matilde Escuder.

Enriqueta Borrás, ‘Irma’ (Barcelona, 1934) was a prisoner’s child and her story is defined by that fact. She was the daughter of the libertarian Rosita Mateu. Her memories of Les Corts are those of a child and teenager who regularly visited her mother during her 8 years long sentence.

In Les Corts, Rosita ran into many libertarian comrades, like the teacher Matilde Escuder.

Su madre, Teresa Rius Colet (Roda, 1912), fue detenida en 1939 cuando intentaba reunirse con su marido, Josep Mercadé Arall, que ya había logrado escapar a Francia y que sería exterminado en el campo nazi de Mauthausen, subcampo de Gusen, en 1941.

The testimony of Joan Mercadé (Roda de Berà, 1935) is that of the son of a prisoner. His mother, Teresa Rius Colet (Roda, 1912), was arrested in 1939 while attempting to reunite with her husband, Josep Mercadé Arall, who had already escaped to France and would later be exterminated in the Nazi camp of Mauthausen, in the Gusen subcamp, in 1941.

A militant of the National Confederation of Workers (CNT) and the Iberian Federation of Libertarian Youth (FIJL).

Born in Brihuega (Guadalajara), she was already a member of the Juventud Comunista (Communist Youth) and of the Partido Comunista de España (PCE) (Communist Party of Spain) during the Second Republic, before the war broke out. In April 1945 she entered Les Corts.

This was not the first time she had set foot in a Francoist prison: she had been sentenced in 1939 to 30 years, of which she served 6, spent between the prisons of Guadalajara, Amorebieta, Durango, Santander, Ventas and Segovia. She was released in 1944 and deported to Barcelona.
